How customs shipping works

Edited

Shipping our products internationally often involves customs procedures. While this process is standard, it can sometimes seem complex or concerning. Here's everything you need to know to ensure a smooth shipping experience.

Key Steps in Customs Shipping

  1. Placing the Order

    • Verify Your Information: Ensure that your personal details are correct. A local phone number is more effective than a foreign one if customs need to contact you.

    • Tax Identification Number (TIN): If requested during the order process, provide this number. This identifier is necessary in the following countries: List of countries requiring a TIN.

  2. Order Preparation

    • Once your order is placed, our team prepares the products for shipment within 24 to 72 hours.

    • All required customs documents are transmitted to the carrier to facilitate clearance.

    • We provide a detailed invoice for each product, including:

      1. An HS (Harmonized System) code

      2. A commercial value

      3. Country of manufacture

→ This allows for precise determination of customs duty rates.

  3. Shipping and Transport

    • Your order is entrusted to our partner carriers, who are experts in international shipments.

  4. Customs Clearance

    • Document Transmission: During transport, customs documents are transmitted to the relevant authorities by the carrier, who often acts as a customs representative.

    • Calculation of Customs Duties and Clearance Fees: The carrier handles the customs clearance process, calculates customs duties, and applies processing fees, which are billed directly to the customer.

    • If information is missing or further details are needed, you will be contacted directly, or we will intervene if necessary.

  5. Payment of Customs Duties

    • Release of Goods: Once duties are paid, the goods are released and can be delivered.

    • If customs duties are not paid within the allotted time, several outcomes are possible:

      • Return to Sender: Shipping costs will not be refunded.

      • Local Destruction: Products may be destroyed by customs. We will not be able to refund you.

By following these steps and advice, you can prevent complications related to customs clearance and quickly enjoy your GONG products.
